【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminetheabilityofabuttontoresistbreakingunderimpact,forexampleinpressingtheenditem,whichcouldcausethebuttontofail.Note18212;Inthedevelopmentofthistestmethoditwasfoundthatthefollowingfactorsinfluencedtheabilityofabuttontoresistfailureunderimpactconditions:resinformulation,shapelignesize,thickness,numberandspacingofholes.Buttonsmayalsopassthistestbutfailduringthepressingofagarmentduetothepresenceofheatduringpressing.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenthereportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,testsamplesshouldbeusedthatareashomogeneousaspossible,thataredrawnfromthematerialfromwhichthedisparaterestresultswereobtained,andthatarerandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Othermaterialswithestablishedtestvaluesmaybeusedforthispurpose.Thetestresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.TestMethodD5171forthedeterminationoftheimpactresistanceofbuttonsmaybeusedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofbuttonsbutcautionisadvisablesinceinformationislackingonprecision.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofimpactresistanceofplasticsew-throughbuttons.1.2Thevaluesstatedineitheracceptablemetricunitsorotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesexpressedineachsystemmayormaynotbeexactequivalents:therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
