【摘要】:Rubberarticles,suchasseals,gaskets,andmembranes,maybeexposedinservicetochlorinecompoundsusedinpotablewaterasdisinfectants.Theexposuremaybeintermittentorcontinuousandcanoccuratvarioustemperatures.Propertiesofrubberarticlescandeteriorateasaresultofexposuretowatercontainingthesechlorinecompounds,affectingtheirperformancefortheintendeduse.Thistestmethodattemptstosimulateserviceconditionsthroughcontrolledacceleratedtesting,butmaynotgiveadirectcorrelationwithpartperformanceunderactualserviceconditions.Ityieldscomparativedataonwhichtobasejudgementonexpectedservicequality.Thistestmethodissuitableforcompliancetesting,qualitycontrol,andresearchanddevelopmentwork.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforevaluatingtheabilityofrubberandrubber-likematerialstowithstandtheeffectsofaqueoussolutionswithavailablechlorineandchloramine.Itisintendedtocomparetheeffectsofchlorinecompounds,presentinpotablewaterduetodisinfectionprocedures,onrubberarticles.1.2Testsolutionsaredesignedtocontainchlorinecompounds,includinghypochlorousacid(HOCI),hypochloriteions(OCI),andmonochloramine(NH2Cl).1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
